University Relations - Phoenix

The Office of University Relations in Phoenix provides coordinated communications with external groups to introduce and familiarize them with the UA College of Medicine – Phoenix and raise the awareness of the medical school and the University’s presence in Maricopa County. The office promotes the University of Arizona to business, community and governmental leaders in the area. It is specifically involved in coordinating the expansion of the Phoenix campus, including the health science colleges.

In addition, the Phoenix office handles all news media inquiries and processes all external and internal communication for the campus. The office's role is to tell the UA's story to the greater community and to raise the profile of the UA as a premier, student-centered research institution. The marketing professionals are the UA's storytellers and brand managers promote the University and the Phoenix campus in an integrated fashion.

The University of Arizona, College of Medicine – Phoenix University Relations team is led by Judy Bernas, Associate Vice President. Bernas is a UA alumna (Journalism/Sociology ’88).  She has served as Associate Vice President for UA federal relations, Director of government relations for the Arizona Health Sciences Center (AHSC), and AHSC Associate Director of the Office of Public Affairs.
